English is the global language - Essay Example Every language has its own importance. It is important for the people of that specific region who communicate through it. One language might be completely strange for the people of another place. But even in this vast diversity some languages are spoken and understood throughout this whole world. one example of such a language is English. English is spoken and understood almost in every region of the world that is why most of the people around the world have been now calling it a global language because it is that one language that is understood by the majority of the people of the world. A global language is a language that has the same quality and also it could be used as an important tool for intercultural and interregional communication. English certainly is not the official language of all the countries of the world, nor is it spoken and understood by each and every person in the world. A global language usually plays a ‘special role’, a role that proves it as a global language. English is spoken as a mother/first language in many countries of the world but this is just not enough for it to be called as a global language. â€Å"To achieve such a status, a language has to be taken up by other countries of the world. They must decide to give it a special place in their community.
